Since it began, Rainforest Trust has been dedicated to protecting rainforests around the world. 25 years ago, the organization started its work preserving the Peruvian Amazon. Partnering with the Center for the Development of an Indigenous Amazon (CEDIA), they helped indigenous communities obtain legal rights to their land and protect it from commercial deforestation.

Today, Rainforest Trust has protected nearly 14 million acres of the Peruvian Amazon.  It continues its mission to help the earth by empowering indigenous communities around the globe to steward the rainforests they call home. Through their work in the Peruvian Amazon alone, Rainforest Trust has provided sanctuary for 68 endangered species, helped 189 communities, and safely stored 2.8 billion tons of carbon.
