If you’re reading this in your car and feel like you're leaning a little too far to the left (or right), you might be riding on a flat. Good news: Walmart+ members can fix a flat tire by getting unlimited free tire repairs at 2,500 Walmart Auto Centers across the U.S.
Keep reading to see how Walmart’s tire services roll, and how Walmart+ members can get patched up and back on the road for $0.
What Your Walmart+ Tire Repair Benefit Covers
Without a Walmart+ membership, a tire patch at a Walmart Auto Center costs $15, which is still a bargain. But if you happen to subscribe, there’s no beating a tire repair cost that’s free.
Even better, unlimited tire repair services are good for tires — whether or not they were purchased at Walmart. Still got your original tires from the dealership? You’re covered! Did a local mechanic just install new ones yesterday but you ran over a nail today? You’re still covered!
You aren’t limited to a single vehicle. If your car, truck, and minivan all get flats — some drivers have all the luck, right? — you can bring ’em all to a Walmart Auto Center for repair.
What’s Excluded From the Benefit
Unfortunately, not every tire qualifies for free repair. There are a few exclusions you should know about.
First, if a tire can’t safely be repaired due to the location or extent of the damage, Walmart won’t attempt it. Makes sense, right? You don’t want to be riding around on unsafe tires — and they don’t want that for you. (Since you’re already at a Walmart Auto Care Center, however, you can easily purchase a new tire in this case.)
Walmart also won’t repair tires on the following types of vehicles:
- Golf carts
- Trailers
- ATVs
- Motorcycles
- Lawn & garden equipment
- Semi-trucks
- Commercial trucks or vehicles
- Farm equipment
- Large recreational vehicles
Finally, free tire repair doesn’t apply “when there is no usable tread left," and “there are limits to the number of times one specific tire can be repaired," according to Walmart.

How to Use the Walmart+ Tire Patch Perk
You typically don’t need an appointment for tire repair at Walmart Auto Care Centers. When you arrive at your nearest location, just scan the QR code in your Walmart app to confirm your membership status and claim your free tire repair benefit. This perk is available for trial and paid members.
Other Walmart Tire Services and the Walmart Road Hazard Warranty
Do you need a Walmart tire service besides fixing a flat? You can also get tires installed, rotated, or inflated at Walmart Auto Centers.
How much does it cost to rotate tires at Walmart? According to Walmart Business, it’s $5 per tire or $15 for lifetime rotation and balancing.
Need tire installation? Unlike with Walmart tire repair and Walmart tire rotation, you’ll need to sign up for an appointment to get Walmart tire installation — which is easy to do in Walmart’s Virtual Garage. (We walk you through the process here.)
The basic Walmart tire installation package costs about $18 per tire — pricing can vary depending on region and tire type — and includes:
- Tire mounting
- Lifetime balance/rotation services
- Service pack/valve stem
The “value" Walmart tire installation package costs about $28 per tire and includes:
- Tire mounting
- Valve stems / TPMS
- Lifetime balance and rotation
- 50-mile re-torque
- Walmart Road Hazard Warranty protection (except in New York State)
When you purchase tires and installation at Walmart, you also get a free Road Hazard Warranty included with your Walmart+ membership. This Walmart tire warranty protects you in case of “unforeseen hazards of the road causing flat tires, impact breaks, and non-repairable punctures." (Just be sure to save your proof of purchase for the tires, because you’ll need it to make a Walmart Road Hazard Warranty claim.)
