Athleta Announces the Launch of Expanded Inclusive Sizing, Leading the Way for Body Positivity

Over the past few years, fitness brands have transformed their messaging to reflect inclusive sizing that represents all bodies. By expanding options, many brands are reshaping the conversation surrounding body positivity and showing that inclusive sizing isn't just a “trend," as Shopify writes. Inclusive sizing is here to stay, and we’re all for it!

With a commitment to body positivity and empowering women of all sizes, Athleta recently announced the launch of their expanded inclusive sizing selection. Their apparel has been crafted for all women in sizes XXS-3X or 00-26—the company’s most inclusive range yet. Athleta has worked directly with active women of all shapes to help refit and test each apparel piece to ensure each one meets high performance and fit standards.

The expanded inclusive sizing collection includes over 500 “expertly crafted styles" that will be available both in stores and online by March. According to Gap Inc., 70 percent of the Athleta collection will be available in sizes 1X-3X by Spring 2021, leading the way for expanded inclusive sizing and inspiring other brands to do the same.

As a part of its ongoing commitment to embracing size inclusive apparel, Athleta has vowed to extend sizes across categories by the end of 2022. According to Yahoo! Life, over 5,000 Athleta employees will undergo inclusive sizing and unconscious bias training in the midst of the inclusive sizing launch. Athleta has taken the time to truly listen to feedback from their customers to create an inclusive athletic brand that provides comfort and quality wear for women of all shapes and sizes.
